As I noted the first time this came up, all life on Earth shares a common ancestor. Being the same species, all humans share a common ancestor fairly recently. It doesn't mean that we're descended from Aaron necessarily, it's going to be hard to prove or disprove that either way, but it gives a great deal of credence to my claim. Seriously? By that argument, I'm descended from William Shakespeare— evolution proves we share a common ancestor, so while that doesn't mean I'm descended from Shakespeare specifically, it's going to be hard to prove or disprove that either way, and it gives a great deal of credence to my claim. In fact, I have (marginally) more of a claim to being descended from Shakespeare, since at least he was real. |
