The minimum wage is one of the important supports FOR a private economy. Were it not for what should be a guaranteed living wage through law, the outcry to socialize and ensure a living wage would be tremendous.It should be preserved and brought up a level where it produces the ability to support oneself minimally....food, shelter, clothing. If brought to that level nationally, it can be modified to reflect actual living costs in a state or locality. Full time work should enable one to survive. |
