Of course nobody would take a job that provides less than what you mentioned about a minimum income. However, if work provided for a better living above the minimum, it would be attractive.That's the biggest problem with the existing welfare reform. It does not provide a reward for work, it takes needed benefits (especially in the first months of returning to work, when needs for what might be considered options such as a sufficient wardrobe are acute and unrecognized) away too quickly. |
