The reason I ask is that a long time ago I was on a Q26 bus in Flushing, and a woman asked the driver if this was the bus to Rosewood. He replied "27", to which the woman responded "That's what I thought." So, I always assumed that Rosewood referred to the portion of Bayside along 48th Ave. between Francis Lewis Blvd. and Bell Blvd., approximately, since if she had intended to go to "the intersection of Hollis Court Boulevard and 47th Avenue" the Q26 would have worked just fine. "Rosewood" doesn't even appear to be a Queens neighborhood. It's not listed on the Queens Neighborhoods page. Eveidently it's just a description created for the Q27 (Flushing-Rosewood-Queens Village, formerly Flushing-Rosewood). |
