NJT to take over A&C and ONE Bus routes |

Posted by kcram3500 on Wed Sep 27 14:03:19 2023 As reported from several NJT employees, they will assume operation of the ONE Bus 24, 31, and 44 routes in the Newark area on Sunday October 8, and three of A&C's routes in Jersey City at the end of October. The A&C routes will be renumbered to available numbers in the NJT system:• 8 Bergen Avenue • 9 Montgomery-West Side • 14 Duncan-Route 440 Obviously, Trenton found the money to do this, since it was certainly not in NJT's budget to acquire money-losing local routes. Not clear yet is if NJT will restore or increase cut schedules. These are the garage assignments as of now: Meadowlands will run the 8 and 9 Greenville will run the 14 Orange, Hilton, and Ironbound will split the 24 Hilton will run the 31 Big Tree will run the 44 |
