No need to fix what isn't broken.If it were up to me though (and it isn't), I would have renumbered the Scotland Road/Elizabeth Avenue branch as route 23, since that was the number of the old subway-surface Newark Subway route that ran on Central Avenue. But then after that, there came the 23 in Hudson County that was the short-turn Boulevard East route between Hoboken and North Bergen (which NJT got from Academy Bus; a branch of route 22 AFAICR). |
