There's lots of regular farebeating on the Kingsborough-bound B1 at Coney Island Avenue. It's not OK, but on the other hand, it seems to be an accepted practice. The buses that arrive just before classes start are packed solid, and all that rear-door boarding does convey the benefits of SBS. Without it, load factor would drop from front-boarding passengers not moving all the way to the back, and dwell time would go way up.
