From a policy perspective, what is needed is an extension of Q22 service from Beach 169th Street (Roxbury) to Beach 222nd Street (Breezy Point). There is no reason why the New York City taxpayers of Breezy Point should be denied public transportation service. Even if lightly used, it is part of New York City, and deserves at least some--even if minimal--service. The taxpayers of City Island receive service, so should Breezy Point. (In prior years, Green Bus lines operated Q22 service to Beach 222nd Street during school hours. However, it appears as though MTABC has since discontinued that service.) |
