The MTA is only concerned about bus travel time, when the true benchmark should betotal passenger travel time which includes access time as well. Access time cannot be ignored and there is no reason to make any changes which will make travel time from point A to Point B take longer, unless you are doing it for the some purpose of cost cutting. And if that is the case you shouldn't pretend you are making improvements and speeding travel as the MTA is doing. When a route local route travels at 15 mph, one of the highest local speeds in the city, you don't remove stops parenting the buses will be traveling faster. It is dishonest and wrong. |
