The other thing to consider is that not having the Q22 run to Breezy Point also deprives the Roxbury area (around Beach 181st Street) of bus service, and Roxbury is a public area. Also, the street does look wide enough for the buses to perform a U-turn outside the boundaries of Breezy Point if necessary (so that Breezy Point residents can access the bus if they want).It's also worth noting that the Bx8 runs into Edgewater Park, which is a private community. So the assumption can't automatically be made that private community = dislike of mass transit. |
