From the artists rendering, they will be removing a traffic lane from the center roadway, but nowhere in the presentation, do they actually state that. In 2001, Queens Blvd had 12 traffic lanes: six in the center and four in the service roads. Under the proposal, it will have a total of six traffic lanes, a fifty percent reduction. And look at all the development that has occurred on Queens Blvd since 2001. Then the city blames the drivers for the increased congestion? What's next congestion pricing for Queens Blvd? |
