The Queen Blvd subway needs an additional track for bidirectional service. It doesn't even need to be connected to the line along the route,but at least service the area.This Dmu plan, could make use of the various rows that cross the border into Brooklyn and even the Bronx via the Hell Gate. Queens needs another trunk line,and a easy way to transfer between them. A proposed transfer station,one that would have been built for the LIRR and new line from the 63rd St tunnel could still be built, though repurposed. The Bypass bellmouth could be used to bring some trains to this new station in the Sunnyside yards..where riders can transfer to the new Dmu across Queens points east. This could also include a revitalized Rockaway branch. Yeah, I know...but it's better than sitting on one's hands and doing nothing. |
