Calling a limited bus that skips the majority of stops an "express" is common among the NYC public. The public (and the reporters who tell them stuff) have no obligation to use terminology that exists for the convenience of the MTA and its subsidiaries and not really for the benefit of the public. Similar to correctly knowing what is "north" or "south" or the difference between a manager and a supervisor. |
