Many people who only rent cars occasionally for long distance trips are anti-car when it comes to driving within the city limits.Your statement, while it may be true, does not apply to me - - since when did I ever say I rent a vehicle for occasional long distance trips? You said I was anti-car. I am anti-reckless driving, not anti-car (you can check out my National Vision Zero page on Facebook). You said Are to talking in general or about this specific instance with me blocking the crosswalk regarding checking your side and rearview mirrors and turning toward the left? That is what you do when you are passing another car. and then you said . You check your mirrors regularly while driving like every five seconds while you are on a highway..... There was no need for me to check my mirrors before proceeding as long as there was no one to the right, left, or in front of my car. I didn't need mirrors to check that. But you check your mirrors on the highway (which you are correct) but you also should check your side mirrors and turn your head if necessary when you are ready to move again after stopping for any reason....so a bicyclist to your right won't get hit as you start moving again. And happy belated New Year if you have observed it. |
