Many people who only rent cars occasionally for long distance trips are anti-car when it comes to driving within the city limits.And what you described is not Driving 101. You check your mirrors regularly while driving like every five seconds while you are on a highway. That keeps you alert. If you are in stop ant go traffic, you don't need to check your mirrors every time you move forward. You also check your mirrors when stopped at intersections. I was not stopped at an intersection. There was no need for me to check my mirrors before proceeding as long as there was no one to the right, left, or in front of my car. I didn't need mirrors to check that. |
