I have fond memories of living on the Concourse and watching the Surface Transportation B1 and B2 buses pass regularly. I didn't know that they no longer are permitted to pass in front of De Witt Clinton, my alma mater.During my youth I clearly recall the old pre-war Macks (series 600 I believe) were always used. I don't remember that they ever used any new GMs on either line until the MABSTOA days. Right after the end of the war they purchased a fleet of new Macks to replace the old, tired ones. The new ones had red sides and tops, with the familiar cream window band. |
