MTA keeps lying and distorting. The decrease of 20 percent in travel times is for someone who gets on at the first stop and gets off at the last stop. It does not include the extra time to walk to a bus stop which in some cases are one mile apart. The extra time walking to and from the bus often eats up all your time travel savings.

They also do not mention that this supposed increased service comes at the expense of reduced headways on the complementary local route. On the B44 local bus service south of Avenue U has been cut by 75 percent since the implementation of SBS. The slower trips for those passengers have been ignored. SBS has saved the average rider making a 2.3 mile trip only six minutes.
