Kingsborough officials say they were only forced to hire the buses because the MTA refused to increase service to the campus. But the MTA says it never refused to add service and works closely with the college checking ridership numbers.So instead of giving the MTA the additional funds to provide additional dedicated service to the school and its students, it decides to hire its own contractor (who is using a poor choice of equipment for this service) and then complains about it? Why not give the MTA the money it's giving to SAFE Coach Bus Company as an additional subsidy and permit the buses to go onto the property? Am I missing something? |
