Old Stuff: Paper Transfers

Something that quickly fell out of use in New York was the paper bus transfer. Once very commonplace - free or less than full-fare - for rides on an additional one or two buses, they changed and then disappeared entirely with the full implementation of MetroCard in 1997.

Below are a few from Queens' privates, likely from the 1970s (city ones to follow), including the Green Bus Lines with their distinctive railroad font time limits. The back of the Q-60 is also shown because it shows the additional transfer opportunities which existed for the payment of an extra quarter with Add-A-Ride when it started in 1975 (more on that later as well).
