I haven't been on a Mack since 1967, and your description brought back a lot of memories.A GM Old Look and Mack were very different with air brake and engine sounds.I would always enjoy the areas in the City where Macks and Old Looks were right next to each other, leaving a bus stop.Later, when MABSTOA added New Looks, that sound was added to the Macks and Old Looks.To me, the best era was 1962 to 1969, when all three bus types were around. |
