Interesting. At least in that case, he appears to have some understanding of the relevant issues.

How much of it is original thought though?

μανθανω evolved to μαθαίνω = learn in Modern Greek.

My usage was a neologism of sorts:

πολύς = much

μηδέν = zero

I’m sure you can extrapolate!

I have heard Triox used to refer to this by some divers.

Must be a regional usage. Google gives a reference Triox as a hyperoxic mix, touted as being less narcotic than air, for deep diving. However, I would be wary of hyperoxic mixes in such cases. I do not recommend any of the advice in the article, but I point out it exists.

As a careful and disciplined diver, this is always the best way to go. But if you can afford trimix (agreed it's expensive) it does have advantages.

Such as? Please tell me why I would benefit from using trimix rather than air.

…of absurdly patronising (or should that be patronisingly absurd?)…

You see this is why we should have Ron around. I absolutely appreciate that he can be as irritating as an itch halfway down the arm in the cast, but the irritation inspires us to such hilarious leaps of language!

OK. Noted.

"Please tell me why I would benefit from using trimix rather than air. "

Not "rather than" but as a stage: Look at the fourth paragraph here: Link here

So, for the dives I make, where I rarely go very deep, Trimix is useless.

Thanks.

Seriously, the Trimix market is very small, and the participants really have to know what they are doing. This is the part of area of diving where people die from errors.

Trimix is a bottom gas: the gas used at the deepest depth. I have to laugh at the reference you provided. I know the people concerned. And I have absolutley no aspirations of diving the Andrea Doria. I knew Vince Napoliello, who died from a heart attack (hidden heart problem) during his dive.

We can deal with Ron on any level..because HE,UNLIKE YOU..can be REASONED with..using LOGICAL RESPONSES...

You ..on the other hand..cannot be "reasoned" with,and its the hight of foolishness to even try.

Why am I not surprised to find you posting to this thread, hours after everyone else has pretty much finished posting to it? Because you lack common sense.

We can deal with Ron on any level.

Maybe YOU can, but many active posters have indicated otherwise. Your use of "we" is intriguing.

You ..on the other hand..cannot be "reasoned" with,

How do you figure? I can be reasoned with using facts, and quite often I am shown or convinced that a position contrary to mine is correct. And then at hat point I apologize. And MANY people here will confirm that. So stop lying, mmmkay?

You are HATED HERE

Yeah, ok, if by "hated" you mean "supported, as shown by the vast majority of posters in that thread about me on OTChat last week".

Why don't you stop fooling yourself?

"So, for the dives I make, where I rarely go very deep, Trimix is useless"

Agreed. The only thing I assumed was that you are trained to handle all kinds of depths. Have you ever gone in a rigid suit (for exceptionally deep dives) or is that old technology?

The Andrea Doria is a fascinating dive....

Napoliello's loss was very tragic. Are divers required to get a full medical exam to maintain certification?
