There was one transportation engineer who pretended he was a "community group" (George Haikalis) whose presentation was laughable at best and a couple of other people who used the same tactic.I never saw George Haikalis' presentation so I won't argue with you but the late Steven Dobrow was one of the most intelligent people I have ever met and he opposed it for years and frequently wrote against it so I can't agree with you. Considering that, in the end, you'd have to have an airTrain type vehicle meet the commuter train on the Rockaway Line anyway, you end up with a much poorer version of what you have now. Not if they bought vehicles that were compatible with the subway or commuter rails. |
