You've probably posted about more experiences in dealing with the cops than anyone else on your own, these aren't fabricated by other people.You had stated that I have a reputation of dubious or illegal activity, not that I have a reputation for being harassed by the police. The latter is a reputation I share with many other photographers; the former is artificial, created in appearance by the words of a handful of cranks who have never actually met me, but based on no actual facts. Also, I've personally seen you block the RFW on fantrips in a way such that small kids can't stand there and can make other conclusions based on that repeated action (I'm not the only person to observe this). You must have mistaken me for somebody else, as I always step aside to make room for kids. I traditionally stand directly in front of the post between the two windows on an R9 or Lo-V, so that I can reach a camera over the heads of kids standing directly in front of the glass. Stand by what you say, I hope it serves you well in court, but don't come whining here if it doesn't work out in your favor and pretend as if you weren't warned. It not working out in my favour is purely hypothetical at this point. I've settled one case for a respectable sum, I have multiple lawyers volunteering to take a second on contingency, several others are in settlement talks, and the one major complaint not accompanied by legal papers was substantiated by the CCRB who recommended strong disciplinary action against the offending officers. I stand by what I say and it has served me well— in court, in settlement talks, at the CCRB, and on the streets. |

They did the same thing to me when I was in Dallas. I think that it's actually the police that tell you to stop. They have a substation inside the station where they monitor this station and likely many other stations using video cameras.Even worse back at home in LA where we don't even have a photo ban and never have, I was once singled out by description over the PA system to stop taking pictures! At first they said something ambiguous like "That behavior is prohibited on Metro Rail." I had no idea if they meant me or what so I kept taking pictures and then they said something like "You in the blue shirt. Stop taking pictures!" |
