This one's weird! The official notice on mta.info isn't too specific. I think they put 11:15p.m. as the end only because that's approx. when the last southbound train gets into Brighton Bch. Also no reason why they don't mention Mondays. They say only Tue-Fri. With 15 minute intervals, however, the extention to BPB has its costs defrayed.

Anyone know what the purpose of this GO is? Switchwork at 145th preventing trains from turning there?

The way the advisory is written, it would appear the 15 minute headway is both middays and evenings, my guess is to utilize the same amount of equipment over the longer route.

Seems strange that they'd have the B run express, rather than the D (or have both run local). That's just gonna confuse more people who are used to the D-express,B-local service.

They can keep the D train on its normal schedule this way and only need to write a supplement for one line is my guess for why they are having the B run express in the Bronx. B express in one direction also reduces the number of trains they need, which is also my guess as to why its a 15 minute headway during this GO.

Just got home after riding my first B line GO. It was a wonderful experience.

Got to W4th Street just in time to see the last car of a D train leaving. But, I did not get mad, as I normally would have. Because I knew about the "secret" GO (there were no "service advisories ANYWHERE, trains OR stations). 5 minutes later a B train pulls in and I get on. GREAT ride up CPW *passing* an A train that had left 59/CC at the same time as my B train, both A and B trains arrived at 125 at the same time. Proceeded on, at 145 I smugly sat in the car where everyone got off (even though CRYSTAL CLEAR announcements were being made the entire time.) I had my own car after 145, needless to say. FLEW up the Concourse exoress tracks to Tremont and (here's the icing on the cake) PASSED the D train that I had missed just north of Tremont. Wrong railed onto to downtown local track at Bedford Park Blvd. where I got off the R-68A with a huge smile on my face. ONE OF LIFES LITTLE VICTORIES. Yowsa!

It is not as simple just to put in a new pipe as apparently there has been water damage done to the facility which has to be repaired so the place could once again be habitable. That's just what it is--a potential. I wouldn't get too worked up, especially if there are less trains running (e.g. 15 minute headways), unless you're willing to stand somewhere until every in-service B train comes by.
