I have the books for the R-9's and they have all that stuff but for
the LO-V's there is very little around.

There's no one book that has everything. Association of
Railway Museums has reprinted a New Orleans instruction book
that has a lot of good information. It even explains several
forms of multiple-unit control, as NOPSI did run some short
trains, back in the day.

Don't know exactly, however it often it blew past an R 21 after it left the Kingston local stop like it was standing still. Every once in a while, during the evening rush, I got lucky and the Lo V express would switch over to the New Lots bound 7th Ave (Bklyn) local track and head out to New Lots Ave, eliminating the need for me to leave at Utica to change trains

Sounds better than the lax expresses of today. The local train usually ends up picking up speed, and going about 5MPH slower than the express. Express trains rarely blow by locals now.. :( Cars are too neutered. It is that BS 40-45 MPH top speed :(. The older cars probably hit 60 or so MPH...especially in the TUBES...without timers.

And the Arnines DID outperform a hippo when i was on them.

lol The motorman would start the brake actions about 300 feet before the begining of the station, while standing up. The R 21/22s took a lot less hand movement to stop and used a lot less distance.

If the reverser doesn't throw. the interlocks will prevent the Line Switch from closing.

If by "wiring problem", you mean some kind of electrical failure,
then yes that is correct. But if you mean that wires were
connected wrong, that is not what happened. Nobody made a
wiring mistake, the failure was due to burned-out insulation.
I will explain exactly what happened in my response to "Gerry6309"

Ordinary 120VAC household bulbs may explode as they burn out when
used in strings of 5 in a 600VDC circuit. The reason for this
has been explained many, many times before.
