I've been accosted by police and questioned numerous times but no, I can't say it's ever gotten this serious. I maintain Nilet isn't a troublemaker but perhaps needs to learn finesse, where he can assert himself and win the officer over rather than simply quote the rules.BTW, Nilet, another railfan and I were pulled from a train in Philly and detained in a PA office for about 10 minutes. The 3 of us were courteous as was the officer who interviewed us. Bob OTOH is simply Teflon; he never has any trouble :D your pal, Fred PS Thanks for the compliment. |

Todays back ground checks will show way more than that you want companies to know, and the results are they take better candidates. All he's ever gotten is a summons. That doesn't show up in a background check and doesn't need to be revealed on a job application. |

A misdemeanor that you are never actually charged with, let alone convicted of certainly doesn't show up. If your parking tickets don't pop up in a background check, then my being accused of trespassing by a cop but never actually arraigned, let alone convicted certainly won't be a problem. |

It might be worth more that you think. 2 years ago while there was still technically a photo ban on the Boston T, I was taking photos and I let it be known that I was a visiting transit manager from NY. The operator on the trolley I was photographing just nodded, said nothing and let me continue taking pictures. |

Maybe I wasn't totally clear. The trolley operator initially stopped the photographer because he believed photography was wrong (because it is suspicious, in his mind, and could lead to an attack on the system, in his mind) and then when the photographer claims to be a transit employee from another city, the trolley operator says "oh ok, carry on". He's an idiot because if he really believes that photography is wrong and dangerous, then he shouldn't allow anyone to get away with it, because anyone can be lying about who they are. |

Maybe but there might be other factors involved. If a terrorist were going to target a Boston trolley, then it would be more logial that he'd have false Boston ID. He also may be familiar with NYCTA Ids, too. Of course, that's not a reason to violate the policy of the Boston System but that only makes the operator negligent and not an idiot. |

If a terrorist were going to target a Boston trolley, then it would be more logial that he'd have false Boston ID.I disagree 100%. It would be a lot harder for the terrorist to pass of a fake Boston ID than it would be to pass off a fake NY ID. He also may be familiar with NYCTA Ids, too. He may be, but I don't think he'd be familiar enough to judge is one is real or fake. Of course, that's not a reason to violate the policy of the Boston System but that only makes the operator negligent and not an idiot. No, I think it makes him an idiot. That's my opinion. |

I wouldnt know how a guy in Boston whould know. That's what I'm saying! Whould you know If a person from another agency in another state showed you A pass and a badge? Exactly! That's my point! I'm just pointing out his hypocrisy and/or idiocy by, OTOH thinking photography is super suspicious and illegal and dangerous, but OTOH allowing some guy who says he is a transit worker (but who could have easily been lying) to take those photos. That's the kind of thinking that really could compromise the security of the system. |

Like with police officers, there is something about a genuine transit worker that most other transit workers can usually spot. A genuine transit worker knows how to act in a safe manner around a railroad facility whereas a phony would not. Also in many cases, I dicuss certain operating differences between the two systems with these employess and that usually can separate the real deals from the phony baloneys. |
