Not bad, mono. You went down there yourself? Or had some one take the photos for you?

He got the "hook up" heh heh

Nice, but all we need is the main photo of the entire first car.

I'd figure thats about right, maybe 12-15. The first photo of the thread showed the draft gear down about 8 inches (shear pins) and the end bonnet crushed. The #2 end link bar picture shows a sheared radial bar and one bolster off the truck. Wowsa.

Since no one has posted a picture of the first two cars, the T/O had to slam into more than just the bumper (maybe also the wall) to total (or as the news reports stated - sustain significant damage) to the first two cars and put a dent in the third car, Was the train still taking power (accelerating) after the T/O hit the bumper. Unlike the Canarsie yard incident, the train did not jump the bumper and did not derail!

A photo of the train against the bumper was posted here yesterday.

I don't think the car body was badly damaged, but the underside of the car was. So were the coupler, angle cocks and other underbody equipment. One photo I saw had a truck actually lifted off the car body.

Wow. Thanks for the info.
So if it wasn't an R42, but say an R160, the frame would've been kept while they get a new truck for it?
