You don't have a proper frame of reference to properly judge just what that kind of grafitti represents. Waxing nostalgically about this stuff is akin to wishing we could go back to the days of burnt out buildings, rampant crime and crack dealers on every corner. |

I just think that the physical destruction of cars is worse. you can always wash off the grafitti, but the scratches are harder to remove. |

It's possible the exif data is inaccurate because the date/time on the camera is inaccurate.I've taken photos that were ahead by three hours, because I was in California, and I didn't adjust for Pacific Daylight Time. So I ended up having photos that were taken at 1AM when they were really taken at 10PM Pacific Time. Does that mean all the photos I took were fake? That they were all photoshopped? |

There is software available on the Internet that is capable of editing EXIF data, including the date & time stamps. Look at Exifer as an example.Photoshop isn't the only image editor out there. |

True, but the painted grafitti has a whole unpleasant era connected to it. Today's scrachitti is annoying, but it has no baggage. It's simple vandalism, in no way can a so-called "grafitti artist" use this medium for his work. The subway has had to deal with simple vandalism since day #1. |

Agreed, but, it is to prevent scores of trains rolling out with graffiti all over them. As beautiful as we 3 think it is, I agree that it should NOT have left the yard if it was tagged while in the yard, and that the person in charge should be disciplined. |

Bring out a mainline redbird and we've got art. Chances are, this set was probably parked on the lay-up at 111 St so they had easy access to get to this car. It's impossible to get inside Corona Yard and do something like this nowadays. That little skit takes at least 45 minutes to an hour to do and in that time, they gotcha in the yard. This one must have been on the lay-up next to the Flushing-bound local tracks where they wouldn't have been noticed.Until then..... ALP 44 |
