So if someone were to tag an actual work of art, or an image of say, the Hudson Valley onto a subway car, it wouldn't be nice? Sorry, but you need to realize that some graffiti is actually tasteful. Yeah, it's vandalism in this case, which I'm not supporting by any means, but I atleast have sense enough to recognize the artistic ability of the vandal |

While I do think many graffiti works are tasteful, such as this one, the 80s was a horrible time for the subways, and vandalism was a big reason. Trains were covered in graffiti, most of which were pointless tags, not even bubble letters. |

Anyone born after 1984 probably cannot relate to what you're saying. Uhmm, that argument was kind of more towards your side. Nice goingAnd regardless of how dull the steel is, the point is that it is vandalism and it should not be tolerated. If you remember a few monthes back, I am MORE than supportive of having the MTA participate in a program where certain graffiti artists would be allowed to spray paint murals on one car each. This though, as much as I like it, is vandalism, and like I said, should not be tolerated. Photograph it and get rid of it. Sorry. |
