I heard somewhere that in Canada, trains operate with 2 operators. In one direction, operator #1 operates the controls and operator #2 works the doors. On return trips, operator #2 operates the controls and operator #1 woeks the doors. |

She’s not deciding whether to eliminate conductors, she’s deciding whether to force them to have 2 man crews for all time or not. She should veto this. |

This is just More of the fact that a 8 car Mikey Train wont be going OPTO from CTL to Met during the Rush Hour. If she passes it she does if she dont she dont. A lot of us aren't holding our breath either. |

This is just More of the fact that a 8 car Mikey Train wont be going OPTO from CTL to Met during the Rush Hour. Yet it can STILL be put in the Contract IF she dont pass the Bill and if the Union OKs it.. That's another story. |

Those areas people respect the system don’t break equipment jumpOn tracks assault transit workers and other passengers.. The mindset in those areas are nothing like the mindset in NYC.. Night and day. That’s the main issue with this Bill worker and passenger safety.. Some Folks can say whatever they want how “it works in other areas”… |

In the late 60s when i lived by Tompkins Square Park there were transit police on every train and platform 8P-4A IIRC. And we were able to walk from car to car for our perception of safety. In recent years BART (where I live) has had more troublesome pax--particularly during covid. Increased BART Police and an ambassador program hasimproved the situation. In any city with serious homeless, junkie issues, keeping civil order on transit is problematic. That said, expecting the transit service to cure a citywide problem is lame at best. |

It’s a NYC problem not a MTA problem not disputing that but unknown to others we have been trained in certain areas how to handle certain situations. There are protocols in place. Which have helped I cannot speak on San Fran because I never rode their system or been involved with thier procedures.. |

IMO only, each train should have a motor manual, a conductor, and a patrolman. Motorman up front conductor in the middle, patrolman in the back. |

Although, even that wouldn't stop the perps. They sized up the older, fat cop, still snatched the jewelry, pocketbook, and off they went in their Felony Fliers, knowing once they're out of the "hole" and disperse, chances are they will not get caught. That's why the experienced cops had rocks, metal bolts z bits, etx..etc... in the we ir po c kets to thro a at them and hopefully hit them in their head. So e threw the "brick" (radio) or their stick as well. |

It’s not about “stopping” anything we don’t get paid for that.. Yet I doubt someone will go in a car filled with people and act up… These trains are different now these people are different..Seen it myself. |

TWU lost the argument against its start on asking for cash instead of denending the conductors on train safety. System safety affirmed that notion when TA list at arbitration on full length L train OPTO |

I’m not sure if it is necessary to worry. From what I read about the margin the legislature passed it by, it seems to be veto proof. |
