The IND Fulton Street Line is extended from Broadway - East New York to Euclid Avenue The first time I rode that stretch eastbound in the late '60s the entire length was timed with two-shot timers. Yes, there are turns both before and after Liberty Av, but the timers went all the way to Euclid Av, including the long straight track after the last turn past Liberty Av. There were no timers in the westbound direction, with those same two turns. Were those eastbound timers there from day 1 in 1948? Why were they deemed necessary? Nowadays there are some westbound timers too, but not the whole length. |

I don't know if the timers were there from 1948 nor why they were deemed necessary, but there are 12 timers in all southbound (eastbound) between Bway Jct and Euclid. |

The CC as far back as I can remember ran 8 car trains on the shoulders and 10 car trains in the peak. The way it worked was that the first few CCs out of Bedford Pk which were 8 cars would be returning just as the last of the 10 car CCs departed Bedford so the PM rush would start and finish with 8 car trains. Don’t forget, the CC was the only IND local that served both Manhattan and an outer borough unlike the AA/BB which served Manhattan only and the GG which didn’t enter Manhattan at all. |

True, but unlike the CC which remained in existence for many years until the routes were changed, the original EE was only a temporary service that ran until full express service was established in Queens and the second EE was merely what turned out to be a temporary substitute for the BMT service that utilized IND tracks. |
