I'll narrow it down - Norwood Ave., Cleveland St., or Van Siclen Ave. on the Jamaica Ave. (today's J) Line, which at those stations is above Fulton St. (though it's never referred to as the Fulton St. El).

Is the location Fifth Ave. el, 16 St. station?

The building in the background has a large wall ad some of which is readable as "Michaels &"..."503-504. I googled "Michaels &" in quotes and sure enough at the following website, brownstone detectives (Park Slope), there was an article on its webpage about the building URL:

http://www.brownstonedetectives.com/category/park-slope/ (you may have to scroll up or down the page to locate the article)

I found the following: "For those of you familiar with 5th Avenue in Brooklyn,...[the building] ...known as Nos. 503-505. ... the entire floor was at one time taken over with bedroom sets, kitchen tables, and dinettes – a furniture store known as Michael’s & Co."

Initially, this was confusing, since I thought the wall ad pertained to the building on which it was painted. But this building was on a cross street to fifth ave. beyond the el. From the Brownstone site, google mapping it, 503-504[505] looked like it was close to th 14th street cross street. However there didn't seem to be any large building there currently, could it have beeen torn down that recently since the Brownstone article? (if it was a larger building?)

I then figured, the Michael's ad on the wall was billboard sized advertising, on another large building on the cross street, so it would be visible to people riding on the el**; however Michael's was actually on 5th ave.

Google map gave the 503-505 location being at about 14th St. so that seemed close enough to the 16th street station.

**I found this explanation on an old webpage of the Forgotten New York site - Thank you, author, and webmaster Kevin!

How about 65th Street, the southern terminal station, on 3rd Avenue along the Fifth Avenue-Bay Ridge el? If it is, I know it could be because of the brownstones on the block, and where I worked for some years in the Brooklyn Army Terminal complex.

The 5th Ave "el" is correct, but Express Rider is much closer to the correct station.

OK, I'll say then, the 5th ave. el station at 9th street.

They were never referred to as the Fulton Street elevated for the same reason the Second Avenue elevated stations between Canal Street and 19th Street were never referred to as the First Avenue elevated, even though those stations ran over 1st Avenue in Manhattan. The line was named for the area over which the line ran for the greatest distance.

Thank you.
I was close, but I wish I could have guessed it spot on.

I had figured with the advert. on that particular building, Michael's & Co wanted their wall advert. maybe no more than one station away from their location on 5th; or with my second guess, two stations away.

Please give us another "guess this location" they are fun and history workouts.

And checking Google Maps, a big difference as to what that corner looks like today. The J.J. Byrne Playground & Park is located where that lot was situated on the southwest corner of that intersection.

ALthough the building that housed the Italian French Pastry shop is still there, as is the row of four-story buildings mid-block (though hard to see on Google because of the tall trees planted along the street.
