Source: New York Division Bulletin / December 1981 I believe the JFK Express had taken over most of the duties of the Aqueduct Special and had also been stopping at Aqueduct anyway. The JFK Express included FREE admission, the Aqueduct Special did not. |

When did the BMT "Q" types end service on the IRT/BMT Astoria Line? Over the weekend of October 15-16 a six car train of Q-Type ran as a single track shuttle between Ditmars Boulevard and Queensboro Plaza on the southbound track. The northbound platforms were cut back at this time. A six car train of B-Types began operating on the northbound track on Sunday at about 5 PM as a single track shuttle. Full through service was ready for the AM rush on Monday October 17. Larry, RedbirdR33 |

I wonder when and how long it took the signal adjustments to be made as in switching the switch tripper arms to the BMT side of the truck on the Astoria line? |
