Does anyone remember the trolley station in the 167th St. Tunnel under the Concourse with the connection to the IND?

Is my memory correct that the platforms each had a long flight of stairs up to the Independent?
---
Memory also says that X-167 used convertibles, probably built about 1905.
Memory says that X-161 at the same time used 1200's, cars purchased from somewhere else. The X-161 did not, I believe, go under the Independent because that subway was curving from Yankee Stadium to its route under the Concourse, which it reached north of the 161 St. car line.

I remember it after it became bus route BX35, which continued to use the former trolley stop under the subway station for many years. Now the bus goes across the Concourse on the street surface.

Ironically, there was no free transfer when the connection was underground and weather protected. Now of course with Metrocard there is a free transfer, but it's outdoors.

There's a picture of the trolley station with the stairway leading up into the underground IND 167th Street Station on Joe Brennan's Abandoned Stations website.

I can’t be sure, but didn’t the Tremont, Fordham and Kingsbridge Rd stations have a similar setup?

Per the Joe Brennan website that Bill Newkirk posted - no:

"Trolley lines also crossed under the subway at Tremont Ave and Kingsbridge Road, but they did not have their own platforms."

Also, Fordham Road crosses over the Concourse, not under it.

As far as I recall, the trolley stop on East Kingsbridge Road under the Concourse was westbound only. There was no platform. The car stopped, and the law was that autos had to stop 8 feet behind a streetcar discharging or receiving passengers. A passenger got off, hoped the vehicular traffic would stop, and crossed to the north sidewalk, entering the Independent mezzanine directly. Eastbounds did not stop under the Concourse, as there was a wall between the tracks.
---
A curve, still there, preceded the car stop for the subway, hiding the pedestrians from the view of drivers. I'm uncertain of this memory: at one time a photo-electric cell was mounted on the ceiling of the underpass near the westbound wire. The passing of the trolley pole would break the circuit, and a red traffic signal or some other warning would light.
---
Upon motorization in January, 1948, I believe eastbound Bx20 buses immediately began avoiding the underpass, using a bus stop at the southwest corner of the Concourse. I'm uncertain whether westbound buses for a while halted at the Independent entrance in the underpass.

The westbound buses continued stopping in the underpass though the 1950s, if not later.

Forgot about Fordham. I should have known it since I used to frequent that area.
