Personally I took advantage of this cancellation. We went. To 2nd avenue and walked the train back and forth a few times. We also saw a couple of models (human, not the train models) photographed in those old interiours.

We specially liked 401 for its bright lights, and of course 484 and 1575...

By the way, where is this consist stored for now, and when and where is it possible to see it on the move to from service?

Yep. My wife and I (she's so indulgent of me...) were at West 4th, waiting for the 13:03 departure. At first I thought it wasn't coming because of delays caused by the signal trouble being reported near 36th Street (Queens) on the E/F. But at about 13:20, an English woman asked the C/R on an F what was going on. He advised that the Holiday Train was stuck at 2nd Ave.

So we crossed to the Downtown side and headed to 2nd Ave. Sucked that the train wasn't running, but was cool to see the train broken up into 2 sections- with 1300 by itself. I asked a few of the TA folks, including the C/R what was going on. They said motor issues on 1300. The car was hissing a little air, and I think I heard the compressors start up twice. I hope the problems, whatever they are, can be easily fixed.

On a side note, some Asian guys were taking pictures of young Asian women in vintage clothes. The girls' poses seemed professional- and they were REALLY good looking !!!

401 had a sticking leaf back in 2004. It doors closed all right, but the guard light stayed on. We were at one of the stops on the Astoria Line and several people were jiggling each door leaf while the conductor watched the guard light. When the door leaf that was at fault locked, the conductor yelled, "I got it!" The I heard this timeless quote up front at 100's cab: "If you get indication, just go." They were using the buzz-buzz highball at each stop once it was determined all the doors were closed if there was no indication.

Yes, I knew that, actually. What I meant is that I believe- correct me if I'm still not correct- is that Arnines can run without indication without doing anything special.

Others with operational experience- I don't know if it was you, Randy, or someone else, told me in a post that a train can run with all doors open on both sides.

Actually all BMT prewar equipment that was equipped with side doors had an interlock that prevented the train from moving unless the bypass button ( in BMTspeak, officially the “Door Control Cutout” or merely “door control” button) was depressed. On prewar BMT equipment, the button was sealed and in the event the seal had to be broken and the button used, supervision had to be notified at the first opportunity and a car inspector would have to replace the seal after necessary repairs were made. CTA equipment has a similar procedure that requires a seal to be broken if their bypass (door control) button has to be used. On all cars up to and including the R-15s, the bypass button had to be held depressed in order for the train to keep taking power. Starting with the R-16s, the bypass button would remain depressed as long as the controller was in an operating position but would have to be redressed when the M/M needed to reapply power after the controller was shut off. For some reason neither the B of T nor the NYCTA felt it was necessary to have the bypass button sealed. I suspect that the reason that the IND prewar equipment lacked such amenities as running lights that changed when the reverser was thrown, tripcocks resettable from the cab and door interlocks was that these features were patented by the BRT and its successor company the BMT and the city wasn’t about to pay royalties to a company that it was trying to put out of business.

"... a train can run with all doors open on both sides."

Yep. As a kid, I remember seeing a train of BMT Standards entering service, rounding the curve into QBP with open doors. Those cars were apparently sitting in the middle track above 31st St between rush hours. The doors were opened in an attempt to cool the interiors off after sitting in the sun all day.
