When Mr Green is waiting at 59 and the train arrives it dumps. Chow!"The mother" is listed in the credits. I guess she's the mother of the two boys at the railfan window. She's a single mom with two out of control boys on the way home from the welfare office. |

I may have that movie, but if I do, it's probably on VHS, and since I don't own a VCR...I've got to get one of those VHS/DVD recorder combos before they go away, Wal-Mart was selling them fairly recently, but I haven't checked in awhile. I'm sure the DVD is dirt cheap now. Because it's an MGM movie, it just has the movie and the trailer. No extras.Unless there's been another release and/or a BluRay issued. |

It worked well for a few years and I made dozens of DVD's of my train movies from VCR's and threw my duplicate bulky VCR's out.The machine quit and now I just have a DVD payer. i don't watch hardly anything on VCR which is hooked up to my other TV.Anyway, DVDs are real cheap , nowadays , I hope Pelham 123 is still available. :) |

In my situation, I've kept my double posts to a minimum. On my screen, in the "post message-click once" box. I'd click & mistakenly think that I missed a/c after the click nothing would happen. Back then, I'd click again & wind up with a double post not knowing then that I didn't miss. Now If I click & nothing happens, I'll just assume that I didn't miss & not click a second time. Not that I post much here anyway, when I do, Its never a double. My only doubles nowadays are ordered from a barstool!:) |

My guess is that the train dumps, then goes into the spur track north of the station to make way for the road trains. It was probably double ended by another motorman. For whatever reason producers needed a shot of a train arriving for Mr Green, and that was it. And they were careless about the storm door window too. |

And they were careless about the storm door window too.R-17? Guess it was a real 6. Of course, the 6 didn't use R-21s or R-22s in real life in 1974 (or possibly ever). By 1974, it was kinda rare to see a 17 as a lead motor. Usually, they would be cars 3/4 (or 8/9). They used to run them lead in the late 60s/early 70s (lots of photographic proff on nycsubway.org). In fact, I've seen pics of a 17 in the lead, then a married (or semi-married) pair, then another 17. Strange. Usually 5/6 were always a married pair (I wonder if the absence of the controller/brake stand gave the C/R a bit more room). |

I remember riding on the Pelham Line around 1960 and there was an R-22 in the consist of one of the trains passing in the opposite direction, but that was very rare. One of the interesting things about Pelham is that it didn’t run any R-12s, 14s, or 15s in any of the consists even though those car types were common on the other IRT lines ( except for Flushing of course). From what I saw, the entire complement of R-36 ML cars were assigned to Pelham and it seemed that the only single cars on Pelham were the R-17s. In the late 1970s, the TA experimented with operating 5 car trains out of both Pelham and Parkchester during the mid day and the Yd/Mast at Westchester Yd had to make sure that sufficient trains were assembled so that they could be cut 5 X 5 for the midday operation. |
