Wall Street will be fine, they are like a baby who falls and cries for two seconds. Not to mention they can all work from home. Next time they may not be so lucky, the one storm will come that may one day destroy the stock exchange, what then? People need to lighten up! |

Actually, as I have since learned, NOT EVERYONE on Wall Street CAN work from home. A good number of people apparently for security reasons have to be in their offices, and some of those were unable to come in because they could not risk something go wrong at a remote site (whether it be home or otherwise) that could prove costly.Given the Dow has been down 480 points the last two days, you have to wonder if even if it was not the actual reason the Dow plunged like it did over two days (and it certainly was if at all a reason at the very bottom of an extensive list) that some on Wall Street used this two-day drop to stay PO'ed at Cuomo to the point where this has now come out. |

Wally, you have no idea of what you're talking about. The subway and bus service shutting down had nothing - repeat, nothing - to do with the market drop the past two days. You sound like you have OCD so how about increasing your meds and STFU? |

NO ONE is buying that Prendegast ordered it.Most think Cuomo ordered Prendegast to say he did, and I think so because I suspect Cuomo got a verbal beat-down by Democratic Party leaders who likely are FURIOUS with Cuomo right now over this for reasons I got into previously. I'm sure Faber's CNBC rant played a big part in this. |

No. I don't have to wonder. The Dow didn't plunge out of spite like you seem to be suggesting. There are perfectly good, obvious business reasons that explain why the market dropped -- and would've dropped even if it had been 80, sunny, and with clear skies. |

That's the point I was trying to get across. It's why Wall Street got PO'ed like they did for Cuomo shutting down the system and would have if it were 6" or 60" of snow. |

Absolutely, those were hurt too, that's a given.I was mainly referring to support staff at many firms that were unable to get to work because of the storm and, especially with a 290 point drop in the Dow (followed by ANOTHER almost-200 point drop the next day) EVEN IF it wasn't really the reason for the drops PO'ed Wall Street to where they now are likely going to "double down" on their efforts for the GOP to retain the House and Senate in 2016. Wall Street will not forget this for a long time. Cuomo's ego (as stated in the article you linked to) in this case may very did him in here and I'm sure "Prince Andrew" got a serious talk-to by "Queen Debbie" (Democratic Party Chairperson Debbie Wasserman Schultz) and her associates, reminding Cuomo of Rule #1 of politics: NEVER PISS OFF WALL STREET, EVEN IN AN EMERGENCY. Cuomo violated that and the Democratic Party may very well get punished for it. |

It certainly did, but it's been shown before where on days not everyone is at their desks (whether for a storm of for example "Black Friday") where things (either way) can be exaggerated.Lets just saw if the Dow had gone UP 480+ points instead of DOWN 480+ points in two days, Wall Street likely would not be as PO'ed at Cuomo as they were (and likely still are). |

That certainly was the case through no fault of your own. What Cuomo did with this was expose that we may be at the point where we may have to kowtow to Wall Street's demands first and it may take keeping the subways open (outside of a Sandy/Irene situation where it was clearly obvious the lines had to be closed) just to appease Wall Street with it made clear such was why and a catastrophe happening to change that. |
