I think the T/O was operating with the cab door open in that photo, cause Dekalb is renovated in that pic which happened in the early 2000s IIRC, and of course the Yellow Q which didn't start until 01. I think the 68s was put into four car sets in the 90s. |

Think of it this way- with so many cars in both divisions that can now show almost any set of terminals with any route designation, it's not illogical to put cars where they can accurately reflect where they're going. While the professionals and buffs who post on here know that the D doesn't go to the World Trade Center (in case that became necessary), a non-buff civilian might be confused. So- swap some R60s over there for the duration, and a lot of confusion may be eliminated. |

Those are among the reasons I'd never accept a management-level promotion. Also included in my reasons is the loss of disciplinary protection that goes along with such a promotion.I've reached the top of the unionized series, and that's cool :) |

Yeah, I've seen the crowds of people on the Orange M. I'd anticipate an uproar if they tried to cancel it now.But just as Bill said about how the TA tried to hide the Delancey-Houston connection during the years it was out of service, I'll bet that they'll try to never use the connection between the Nassau Street and Montague Tunnels- even if the Joralemon tube is closed for GOs. I'm sure we all remember the weekend J shuttles that were advertised as going to Atlantic Ave but actually continued to Prospect Park- don't expect to see it anytime soon. |

The R68/68As do look bad with all the scratches, and the stainless steel interior makes me think of a European nightclub where gangster whores are ready to abduct you.The R46s looked fantastic when new. They lost a lot when the blue stripe was removed. Also, the interior lights seem very dim- where they always like this, or were the specs changed? Put the blue stripe back and brighten them up just little, and maybe I'd like 'em again. As of the cars' operational aspects, I don't work for NYCT, so I'll take the word of others for that. |
