Put back the mezzanines they ripped out on Jamaica Avenue to distribute the loads better and rebuild the disgusting stations like Chambers. That has to take precedence. |

So the Charlie would be similar to the 3 line, where the trains would be stored at 207 Street but BO trains sent to Pitkin for maintenance or trains needed for inspection. Does Pitkin have the ability to service the HVAC for HTT? |

CBTC was tested on the R-68 with E-cam controllers in the lat 1990s . It can be done if the car is shifted to a CBTC line. Since the Concourse line was re signaled in the recent past, don't look for CBTC there any time soon. |

One of the things I had in the capital Budget was an overhead crane for 19 & 20 tracks. That order was approved. Keep in mind that Pelham Shop does not have an overhead crane and AC repairs are done in the diesel facility where a crane is available. So then the answer is, Yes, the operation would be very much like the #3 line. Trains would be staged out of 207th St for A & C service as is done now but all maintenance & inspections would be done at Pitkin. |

So Westchester Yard gets an expanded Maintenance Facility for the 6 line fleet. Pitkin maintains the entire A/C fleets. 207 becomes basically a Main Shop and Diesel Facility. Will the 207Y Wheel Truing machine still be used though at 207 as apart of the A/C fleet maintenance cycle? |

Much like Coney Island Shop relies on the wheel truing machine in Coney Island Overhaul Shop. Iw as not until the late 1980s or early 90s that wheel machinies were used in Maintenance Shops other than Concourse Shop which at one time, had 2 wheel truing machines. The 2nd one is now at 239th St IIRC |

Engineering was looking into the reworking of the R-46s to see if they could adapt their cab signaling system to the SCM-1 controller. I never felt that it was feasible, myself.I never try to predict politics but I suspect that the Staten Island R-44s will die a slow death there until new cars are purchased - Perhaps an R-179 or R-211 option order. |

If SIR gets hand me downs, R-68s would probably make more sense than R-46s since the existence of transverse cabs at the #1 ends of all the R-68s makes it easier to re equip them for operation and possible reconfiguring them as 2 car married pairs or even converting some of them back as singles for odd numbered car consists. Some of them could even have the #2 corner cabs control equipment reinstalled so that they can be made into single units for the same purpose. AFAIK, the brake valves are still in the decommissioned cabs although they are capped, so all that would be necessary would be to reinstall the master controllers or depending on SIR administration mindset, install the cineston controllers that could be either removed from STR's R-44s or purchased brand new if they don't want to go to 2 handle operation. |

Yes, but if the A and C can share tracks with the A running 18 tph and the C running 7, then it would seem that the E with its 15 tph could manage with a few more C trains. Of course i'm simplifying things, but the B division is able to accommodate 28tph on the CPW express, so i'm assuming they can accommodate at least that much on 8th avenue's local tracks. |
