Engineering was looking into the reworking of the R-46s to see if they could adapt their cab signaling system to the SCM-1 controller. I never felt that it was feasible, myself.I never try to predict politics but I suspect that the Staten Island R-44s will die a slow death there until new cars are purchased - Perhaps an R-179 or R-211 option order. |
