Taxes too damned high in Nassau, though the prices are right!!As a former Queens resident, I'd argue that the best thing to do is to calculate the cost of parochial tuition school in regards the number of children that you'd like to have and then see if you can purchase equivalent or newer housing in the suburbs with better school districts. There are some really good districts on LI and there are some places that make one want to stay in Queens. FWIW, one of my co-workers knows an Amtrak employee in Queens Village, and his commute is basically either by car to Sunnyside or the bus + subway combo to Penn with his g/f picking him up if he leaves late. |
