Have you not thought that its more cost effective to keep them running? Not only for the power needed during the day for maintenance, but also to keep the AC/Heat at a proper level. It costs much more to heat up an ice cold train, or cool down a all day oven roasted train than to keep it at a certain temperature. Not to mention, as well as manpower costs.And that said, there WILL be no satisfying these people unless the yard was taken away, and it's THEM that moved next to rail yard, not the other way around. This isn't even a case of NIMBY...as the yard was there a century and a half before them.... |
