You Won't Believe What Others Said They Saw Recently |

Posted by SilverFox on Thu Jul 2 00:43:17 2009 What is this world coming to? There were actually R-42s on the V Train! Amazing! I thought orders were given to keep them off that line as an inducement for the lethargic to ride it and feel proud for once in their drab lives, but I guess there are no more props for pikers as more prestigious lines are getting their due and dumping their dross onto the Vee-Haff-Vays-For-You-To-Ride-Zis-Train line. Then I saw the pictures, and then I spit out my milk. I retched from excitement and anxiety of being able to ride the local tracks on an orange-bulleted train of any line. I called up 1010 WINS for them to get that bozo Joe Montone out and ask random straphangers how they feel about the downgrade in equipment. Shit, I couldn't even make love to my girlfriend tonight because every organ in my body was malfunctioning after the shock of the news. Really! R-42s on the fucking V Line! I'm going to take a sick day from work tomorrow and railfan the thing from dawn to dusk, taking extreme close-up pictures of the sign boxes proving it is an R-42 (or R-40M) V Train. I will take periodic breaks to find a free wifi joint and tell you how the cars smell different on the V from the F or E, and the announcements have a certain higher-class accent than those found on the J/M/Z. I'll post YouTube videos of the train entering and leaving the station umpteen times from dozens of different crazy angles, ensuring that no story is really told other than . . . holy shit! R-42s on the V Train! Hell, I'll ask Bloomberg for a special holiday for each city employee to go out and ride the R-42 V Train cars before they're retired. Such a momentous occasion shouldn't go unnoticed by all the overworked and underappreciated city workers who wouldn't otherwise have an opportunity to ride this unique rolling stock on this unique line. Hey Ma! Didja hear there were R-42s on the V Train? I can't take you out to dinner tonight, because I have to go out riding them tonight, while the air conditioning is still working . . . I promise I will make it up to you. How about we eat at Ben's Best Deli tonight in Rego Park? We could just take the V-Train to 63rd Drive and . . . I know we have a car, but your ass hasn't lived until it sat in an R-42 that is on the V TRAIN!!! MA????? sigh . . . |
