The OOS transfer does NOT eat your bus transfer.You can do: Roosevelt Ave to 63/Lex OOS to 59/Lex and then take the 4 train anywhere and once you get off the 4, you'll still have a valid bus transfer, assuming it's within 2 hours of when you swiped in at Roosevelt. You can ALSO do: any bus to any subway station and then still have the free transfer into one of the 5 OOS stations. However, if you do subway, bus and THEN a OOS station, the card will know you're cheating and charge you a new fare. I also seriously recommend NOT sharing the same metrocard when doing OOS with multiple people (nor do I recommend sharing when doing ANY transfer, as it tends to be faulty with remembering how many free transfers to give). |
