MTA is really covering its collective ass in case someone does slips, falls, and dies. Then you can bet the victim's family will try to sue the MTA for several million[s] $ for negligence. Then everyone [paying riders] will feel the impact on the lawsuit [if successful] in terms of higher costs.Fair or not, MTA is doing this so they won't be sued. So yes it sucks, but I doubt anyone wants to pay for a lawsuit based on someone's negligence. |
