I said "tacit" approval, meaning non-verbal or implicit. If the MTA were seriously concerned about complying with the photography rules it would have issued memos once it became known to them that employees are in fact stopping legal photography of the system. Both the NYPD and the MTA are taking advantage of the current situation - they get to get to put on a nice public face and say that there are no photography bans while at the same time allowing employees and officers to enforce a "back door" ban.This is why I feel that lawsuits should be filed each and every time a photographer is told he cannot take a picture - hit them in the pocket where it hurts - make the NYPD and MTA bleed money till the harassment stops! |
