There is a similar situation with subjects other than architecture. Some have expressed here before that NTT's are also a reflection of sameness throughout the world, or proposed platform doors, and other ideas that are international style. But there are two sides to it: While some argue the above is a loss of a city's unique character, others would consider it lagging behind and that such these styles are imperative to have in a global world. And, of course, the "tourist friendly" aspect of people having to see familiar things wherever they go, also discussed here recently. |
