OK, I did a little more exploring today. This is the exit on 32nd St. that I remember coming out of. How I got there from the passageway I still don't know. There was a bus in the way so I could only an angle view. Also I was incorrect in an earlier post - it is not a Sbarro on the NE corner of 32/7 as you can see from the green sign on the left. Next I went to the 33rd St. Entrance, went down the stairs to the right and turned to the right at the bottom where ther is a door. Luckily, the vents on the door were bent and I was able to get a picture of the passageway inside. You can see that there is some temporary lighting down there.  Here's is the map with a red arrow showing where I took the above picture from.
