In a hundred years when they'll be making buildings out of buckytubes, people will lament the loss of the historic glass skyscrapers.Only the ones of some architectural merit. I'd say an easy majority of buildings constructed 1950-2000 are of such dubious architectural merit that they deserve to be demolished. And I'd posit that a similar proportion deserved to be demolished in earlier times, just they largely have been by now. |
