Ewwwwwww! :(OK, it's not QUITE an SRO ... but sure SMELLS like one. And them freaking LIGHTS when they put you on the upper floors, the windows that won't close (honk, beep, rrrrrrrrrr-rrrrrrr-honk-honk-honk all night) and NO bloody curtains, trickles for water pressure and no soap. Ah ... I get it. Somewhere along the line, WELFARE HOTELS got their CO's pulled. :( Mildew Plaza is one of the WORST dumps I've ever been in ... and as I said earlier, DID the "Albert" in the village. Another dump, but at least it was "interesting." :) When we came down in 2001 to spend a few days and hook up with Heypaul and a few others, we stayed at Leona Helmsley's dump on CP South. Now *THAT* was NICE! Same for the Barbarian Plaza and a few other places we've stayed over the years on "NOT the state dime" ... but man oh man ... Mildew Plaza, doing time in the State PENN and the Albert ... and some other non-descript dump by the Port Authority there ... wrecking ball can't come soon ENOUGH. :( |
